Postion: Offensive Line Coach
The Bears have not had an offensive lineman in the Pro Bowl since 1964, but following the 1985 season, two of Stanfel’s pupils – Jay Hilgenberg and Jim Covert – made the trip to Hawaii…Chicago’s young starting offensive line featured two 5th years players, two 3rd year players and a rookie – a testimony of Stanfel’s teaching abilities…Stanfel joined the Bears in 1981 after serving as the New Orleans Saints interim head coach for the final four games of 1980.
